Re: stress eatingFrom: lesley (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Jul 2000 09:49:08 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Lynette I am currently following the sugar busters diet, and while my carb cravings are almost totaly gone, I do still get them on occasions - normally if I have had something which isn't on my diet. So when I go shopping I try not to buy anything which isn't on my diet - no chips and no sweets etc, oh yes and definately no ice-cream. My dh eats what I eat, 'cause I cook it and I don't want to put temptation in my way, he doesn't mind too much as yet as he gets food at work for lunch to satisfy any cravings. Anyway, to get back on track, if I find myself needing to snack, I only have the regulation low carb snacks, and I have found that anything more than a handful of nuts is not good, or a bowl of chopped fruit is enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Also, if it isn't in the house, I can't eat it, the thought of having to get in the car (in Atlanta the car is like a nice sweat box until the a/c kicks in) and have to drive to a store and queue up at the checkout - well it is just way too much hassle. So I have to make do with the snacks in the house.... I don't rely on will power, it doesn't work, if I have ice cream in the house, it goes fast and starts the cravings off again.
