Patty, you need to get copies of your lab work. When you have them then
the numbers will mean something to you. You will be able to see what
tests where done, the normal ranges or reference points are always
listed next to your results. So, you will be able to see for yourself
which ones are normal and which ones aren't. You will also be able to
tell if you need to have other tests done that they didn't do.
Information is power, they are legally obligated to provide you with
this information. Only when you have the information, understand it
will you be able to challenge this doc or decide to move along to
another one. There are completely different tests for diabetes -
Fasting glucose tests and hyperinsulinemia (insulin resistance) Fasting
insulin test, cepeptide test and Insulin glucose tolerance test. It is
your life, don't leave it in some else's hands. Good luck to you.
