Newly diagnosed need informationFrom: Hannah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 19 Jul 2000 10:16:06 -0500 (CDT)
I have PCOS, no menses for two years. The hmo I belonged to refused any treatment other than do the Atkins diet or you will be diabetic in two years. I have moved from that job, state, hmo, and currently reside in mobile bay area in alabama. I have family in Atlanta I can stay with after appointments, and have a list of three doctors. Would anyone suggest one doctor over another in Atlanta, and dietary information? I've been reading things on the net, and just found this site. I am allergic to wheat, 35, no children, and never had normal periods while being a gymnast in high school and college, so the diagnosis was missed. I have battled weight gain for seven years, and now am 167 and 5.1 inch tall. Their are cysts on my ovaries that are causing pain, but the scan the doctor did showed nothing that needed to be removed as of three months ago. Is there anyone who could give me some advice? Thank you,
-- Hannah
