First are you sure you have the right name of the drug your doc prescribed, because tagamet is an acid reducer for your stomach, I don't believe it is an anti-androgen. If you do a search on the name or go to a web site like drkoop.com, they have a drug checker there. It tells you all about the drug you are requesting info on. Tagamet is the brand name, the generic name is cimetadine (think that spellings right). I don't remember exactly what the site said, but I think it was that tagamet increases the effects of the glucophage. So that would effect your dosing, which isn't a good thing. So I would double check things first before you start taking it. If you need an antacid, there are other ones available. If you need an anti-androgen I don't think tagamet will work for that. I think the ladies here who need an antiandrogen are on drugs called spirolactine or aldactone (spelling might not be right). Isn't that right ladies?
