If you have prescription drug insurance, it should pay for this medication because it is a diabetic medication. If they do not pay for it, this is something that you should appeal because it is far cheaper for them than to pay for diabetes, heart disease or uterine cancer and all of the consequences that follow.

For the average dosage - 500mg/3 times a day, at Kroger (other places may be less expensive), it is about $55.00 a month.

For the highest dosage - 850 mg/3 times a day, at Kroger, it is $93.93 a month.

This is with an insurance card so the cash price may be different.
