Sorry for my ignorance but can anyone explain what the following
paragraph of this publication actually means please? What is the DHEAS?

Levels of insulin-like growth factor I showed little response to
metformin treatment in women with normal baseline DHEAS concentrations,
but the levels increased by 9.5% in women with high baseline DHEAS
