Re: Pelvic Pain - Just muscles or ovary?

Imagine the area just above where your pubic-hair line is (supposed to end), and your ovaries are around there, one on either side. The problem is there's other stuff around there, too, like parts of your intestinal tract. If you've got "irritable bowel syndrome" or constipation, then that could be causing pain. I've had SEVERE pain with constipation and gut spasm. I would say, if you're having pain that's not going away, or is recurrent, you should at least check it out with your GP, let him/her know it's there and palpate your ovaries or whatever they do. I get pain lots, and I chalk it up to either my ovaries or my gut or both, since I probably have adhesions from my ovaries to my gut because of the ovarian wedge resection I had when my PCOS was first diagnosed 25 years ago. So I have a sense of what causes my pain. But I've discussed it with my doctor, just to rule out anything she could help with, and you probably should too.

Take care -- Alina
