Hi Susan, It is very possible that the dietician is not aware of the latest research regarding low carb diets and their benefits to people with glucose/insulin problems, and highly possible that she knows little or nothing about PCOS. You might try making her aware of the latest research by bringing a few articles on PCOS, and include some info on the benefits of a low carb diet and this disease. It is likely that her training is different and she may encourage you to follow a different plan. I have found that when I say "low carb" many people automatically think "Atkins" and they think about the 20 grams a day induction period and off they go on a tirade about how you can't maintain that and how it's dangerous. IMHO-it is best to find a moderate plan that works for you, 'trade' your carb choices for the most healthy ones and allow yourself to have the "goodies" in moderation-all while finding the level of "low carb" that works for you specifically. Good Luck! Please let us know how your appt. goes, and if you find out anything new, share it! Thanks! At Mon, 10 Jul 2000, Susan wrote: >
