This is exactly what is happening to me. I am also seeing a diabetic dietician. So I really pressed her on this issue. I am now comfortable with the diet we have chosen. She has me on a 1200 calorie a day diet, 100-120 are complex carbs. 300 carbs per day is considered normal, so this is 1/3 the daily alotment of a healty person. She said that less then that amount will cause your liver to think it needs to put out glucose, which then increases your insulin levels. She said the trick is to keep everything even through out the day by eating small frequent meals no more then 3 hours apart. She has no sugar other then fruit in my diet, no white or starchy stuff. I agree with you that they aren't quite up on the different needs of pcos'ers compared to diabetics, are needs are different. Print out some of the information showing low carbs and bring it to your next appointment. If she suggests something other then what I've mentioned here then you should have some red-flags. By the way my 1200 diet is for my weight and size 5'2 and was 156. Your calories my be higher if you a taller person or weight more then me. Hope this helps.
