Re: beating myself up

Thanks for the input, Julie, and the others who responded. I have looked at some of hte books, incl Carb Addicts, and I agree: it seems bigger than a will thing; it really is metabolic. I find myself HUNGRY if I don't eat more carbs. Perhaps I've been trying to go for too long between meals -- 4 or 5 hours -- and need to let myself eat a bit in the way of healthful snacking in between so that the cravings don't blind me entirely. Also, I have tended to love exercise most of my life, which turns out to have been a fortunate coincidence, and I wonder if I just need hte calories, and they're so much easier to get from carbs. (Though I find I am now starting to gain weight a lot more quickly than I used to.) Veggies just don't yield a lot of them. Anyway, I do appreciate knowing there is a support network out there and hearing your input. I will use it to stay/get strong.

Thanks. Lots of good thoughts to you all -- Alina

It has a quiz in there to see if it applies to you. Good luck to you, let me know if you need any support as I just started the low carb thing today.
