A couple things - Diet soda/ DisabilityFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 30 Jun 2000 16:17:23 -0400
Ginger - I totally understand about the diet soda addiction. My best friend is seriously addicted. A number of my friends who also have Fibromyalgia, like me went off it and it was hard but guess what - THEIR PAIN AND DEPRESSION all but STOPPED. There's some good information on http://www.dorway.com (don't let it scare you). I have a thing for regular ginger ale. SIGH........ On another note - I am disabled. It is most "invisible" but I do use a cane. I know someone posted that PCOSers wouldn't be treated this way if they had a wheelchair. Wrong. I have had the rudest things said to me when I use my chair. A dear friend has a wheelchair and they get the nasty looks - like "You are in my way!!!" Because I am 80lbs overweight I had been told if I lose weight I won't need the cane. Wrong. I was using it 5 years ago when I first got sick and was 10lbs UNDERWEIGHT. It takes a lot of strength to stand up to people, but in my mind, it has to be done. More education about PCOS is a big step Barbara Camwell Ness in NYC
