Can you have PCOS without having an excessive amount of cysts?

I have most all of the symptoms of PCOS but my ultrasound did not reveal an abnormal amount of cysts and I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia instead of diabetes. However, I have found it almost impossible to control mu blood sugar even when I follow my no carb no sugar diet. In fact, I sometimes feel worse when I eat. I also do not have a family history of infertility (I have not tried to get pregnant). There is a family history of diabetes and depression and my grandma and aunt both had pain around the right ovary.

I have facial hair and hair on my breasts, stomach, and thighs. I have always had irregular periods even on birth control. I have dark skin spots, excessive acne on my entire upper body, and pain around my right ovary.

I have been told I also have cysts on my cervix and one ultrasound in December showed what appeared to be a submucosal fibroid in my uterus that did not appear on either of my other 2 ultrasounds I have had in the last year.

I had one doctor think it might be endometriosis but when I had to switch doctors, my new doctor said I was classic for PCOS, but she did not pursue it any further when my ultrsound came back within normal limits.

Is it possible I have PCOS? If not, does anyone have any suggestions? If you have PCOS, does your body actually ever get rid of the cysyts on its own?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
