A new sufferer from the UKFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Jun 2000 15:22:25 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there, I can't tell you all how much better it makes me feel to read some of the letters you write. I have been suffering from PCOS for around 5 years at least - they always told me my condition of having very infrequent but painful and heavy periods was quite normal, then changed their minds and said it was Endometriosis, only February this year and a change of doctor saw me undergo an internal scan, and I saw the state of my ovaries - goodness no wonder nothing is working right!!!! I have always been very slim, but recently putting on weight which I can't shift, the hair is also a problem body hair gets me so depressed sometimes I just don't know what to do - if anyone has found a good way of eliminating this please let me know, my hair on my head has started to thin at quite a rapid rate - although seems to have settled a bit now - does anyone know if this continues, or if indeed there is any treatment I could have. I am not taking any pills etc at the moment, I am not too sure of side effects etc (my mother died of breast cancer last year and I know you have to be careful with certain medications). Any advice or chat would be very welcome - at least I know I am not suffering alone. thank you for the use of your ears.
-- Michelle
