Dear D.--The problem with treating PCOS (or a potential case of it) with
just hormones is that the root cause of insulin resistance is never
treated. BCP's will mask some of the symptoms, but will do nothing for
the insulin resistance, which can develop into problems such as
diabetes, heart disease, etc.
