Met has really helped me. I'm 5'4" and have always had to really struggle to stay within 150-160 lbs. I started Met a few months ago and I'm now 142 and dropping. I'm 31, but haven't weighed this little since I was 14. It feels great! By the way, I've had no side effects (very lucky). I'm not as strict about low carbs as other people on this board, but I do try to minimize rice, pasta, potatoes, and sugar and concentrate on high fiber carbs.
