Re: I don't get it--WINKFrom: Herring (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 16 Jun 2000 07:32:33 -0500
I was told by my dr that I saw today for my diabetes that the way to treat the hypoglycemic attacks that people that are IR get is to eat frequent small meals throughout the day. I don't understand why your dr would tell you that you are not IR. Did your dr run an IGTT on you? All hypoglycemia is, is low blood sugar. (normally below 70) And it is very easy to still be IR and have low blood sugar. You are IR but you do have insulin, and the insulin does do it's job, just not very well. If your dr will not run an IGTT on you then I would get a new dr. I hope I wasn't too confusing. And if I am not insulin resistant then I am not PCOS. I thought those two went hand and hand. Now I am way confused. Needless to say I wasn't put on MET cause he said hypoglcemia can only be controlled by diet. Was he wrong or do I just need to get a clue????? Chrissy
