Sheila. where do you live? Look at the Healthcare Directory at the http://www.pcosupport.org page and see if there is someone close to you. My daughter is on metformin and it was prescribed by an physician specializing in women's health and hormones. It has worked for her. The treatment is still new and many physicians are unaware of it. Have you had a Glucose Tolerance Test with Simultaneous Insulin Levels. This is a test for insulin resistance and that might indicate the need for an insulin sensitizer like metformin. Look at the literature on the PCOSA homepage and you will learn quite a bit. You might want to print some articles for your doctor.

Feel free to email me privately. Molly -----Original Message----- From: shelia <anonymous@obgyn.net> To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS <anonymous@obgyn.net> Date: Monday, June 12, 2000 7:29 AM Subject: doctors won't listen!!!!
