Donna,
>From my own personal experience, I was given Provera only to induce my first cycle
after not having one for about 1 1/2 years. After my cycle started I began taking
bcp's to bring on regular monthly cycles. A few other times I decided to go off
bcp's and see if I would get my period on my own...never did. In order for me to
take the bcp again, I would always have to take Provera first to induce that
cycle. At one time, I asked my physician if I could go off the bcp & take Provera
once a month to induce the period and she did not recommend doing that....not sure
why. If your daughter does not like the bcp she was taking, perhaps the physician
could change the type of pill she has been on....there are certainly many out
there & many of the women on this board have commented on them. Many have had
luck with numerous pills....however, the Depo shot (from what I've read) is
somewhat unfavorable.
Good Luck!
:-) Alexis
