Hi Crystal!

Although you should see a gyn for your yearly check-ups, I believe you may want to look for an Endocrinologist to help you with your PCOS. Depending on how much info your gyn has regarding the subject, an Endo may have more about that specific problem. Many of us on this board see Endos or Repro Endos.

There are many things you can do on your own to help your symptoms...but, it's great that you're looking into this eary & not waiting...do it now before/in case the symptoms get worse. Many of us do use low carbohydrate diets to help with weight loss. Weight is a big problem for me and along with the low-carbs, I also take supplements to help. The weight problem is another problem of Insulin Resistance which may be at the root of PCOS. Another treatment is Metformin which also helps with the IR....I'm not taking it though but alot of others are & they may be able to provide you with more info if you'd like. Gotta Run...if you'd like any specifics on my particular diet and/or supplements, please feel free email me personally @ lpd22@gis.net

Good Luck!! :-) Alexis
