Find a different doctor. Sorry if that's blunt, but from personal experience, it is often hard to convince a doctor that they should try a different approach once they're set on something. It is hard for me to understand why, if your OB/GYN knows how much trouble the pill gives you, that s/he would try to get you to take it. I had an OB/GYN that I LOVED and he convinced me to take a depo-provera injection, even though I had serious doubts. I should've followed my instinct. My PCOS rebounded ten-fold after that shot. I cannot prove that's what caused everything to get worse though. But I do know that during my pregnancy and post-partum (before the injection) I felt WONDERFUL and lost 50 lbs. almost effortlessly, and within weeks of getting the injection, I gained 30 lbs., was depressed, migraines, NO interest in sex, etc. I tried to work with him and tell him how bad it was going, and he still tried to talk me into "trying it again, your body may take some time to adjust". Needless to say, I have a different doctor now.

If you are normally happy with your doctor, maybe you could take in some literature that shows the benefits of alternative treatments. But, I would say that if s/he is still not swayed, I'd look for a different doctor before I agreed to take something that I knew made me feel horrible.

Just my opinion, you need to do what's best for you. But please know that you have a lot of support from all of us, whatever you choose!
