Re: Peeling fingernails

I do not know exactly why this happens but I do know that your nails are a good indicator of your overall health. You may have not really noticed this before but your dr or nurse looks at your nails when you go in to see them or if you go into the hospital.

I have noticed that a few months after I started low carbing and metformin, my nails are far stronger, I actually cut them to keep them from coming too long. I do not have the top layers peeling off. They are not bending or cracking either. I was talking about this to my husband a couple of months ago.
