Re: ??????????WINK againFrom: Barbara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 7 Jun 2000 21:01:55 -0500 (CDT)
There is evidence to suggest that you can "re-sensitize" your cells to insulin, but that you still would not be able to go back to a high carb lifestyle. We PCOSers will always be more susceptible to IR problems even with the right diet and lifestyle, ie: excersise. Some of us may manage with the diet, excercise and vitamin supplements, others may have a more severe problem that can only be managed by medication, in combination with diet and excercise. Everyone becomes more IR as they age, and many people now believe this plays a big role in problems like heart disease, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and of course type 2 diabetes. I have read this in a number of books on low carb diets and IR. At Wed, 7 Jun 2000, anonymous@obgyn.net wrote: > >So there is no way to reverse the insulin problem???
