My RE told me that she had some patients who, with weight loss, reduced their symptoms (hirsutism, acanthosis), but she did not give any indication that the disease can be cured. Given that researchers think it is genetic, I'm not sure a cure is possible (short of gene therapy).

A cure would be nice, but I'd be overjoyed if my symptoms were controlled!

I'd be interested in hearing opinions of people more informed than I am!

With successful weight lose(did I spell that right?), can PCOS be beat???? Does your body straighten itself out??? I know this is all insulin related but if that gets worked out does everything else get better??? Or is this just a battle we can win but not the war???? I keep reading about fighting this but no real answer to whether or not that it will be "cured".
