Hi Amy, I think Clara has given you EXCELLENT advice. I am the research queen, so I always recommend: know WHY you are doing something, don't "just do it" , know WHY it works. Once you know that, and you all ready know your own body and lifestyle preferences, you will be able to make this work for you. The bottom line is you don't have to give up anything you don't choose to, you do have to adjust how and when and how much you have of certain foods, and you may find yourself eating more of other foods in place of that. Also, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water". I have read alot of low carb books, and I don't agree with *everything* in every book, but they each have provided a piece of the puzzle to make a plan that works for me. Something else that has been helpful to me, is a journal. I keep track of my weight, my meals, my moods, my cravings all that. Eventually I may stop, but not until I can see a clear relationship between all the variables that are affecting my health, so I can then know it so well that I can go on "auto pilot". Good Luck to you, and when you get it figured out, post us with your "tips"! At Wed, 7 Jun 2000, Avalos, wrote: >
