Fiber slows down the absorbtion of carbs so supposedly you take the number of grams of carbs subtract the grams of fiber and arrive at an ECC-this means "Effective Carbohydrate Count" - this from "Protein Power" book. I don't know why the books vary so much, but I did notice that in the Protein Power gram counter, California Avacados and Florida Avacados had different number of grams, so perhaps it is variety or size related?
