There is a difference between a basal thermometer and a glass one (although I do not know what it is. LOL). All you have to do is go to a pharmacy (or store such as Wal-Mart) and ask for one. I found a digital one for about $10. I works pretty good because it remembers the temperature reading so you don't have to write it down right away.

I am also on glucophage 500mg 3x's a day. It seems to be a fairly common dosage. I have read of a few people with higher dosages, but I think most doctors start off with 1500mg (actually beginning with 500mg and working up to 1500mg to try to reduce unpleasant side effects).
