Heather, Provera is usually used to induce a cycle. However, I would suggest that you do some research & see another physician...perhaps maybe one listed on the PCOS site. BCP only "covers up" a symptom of PCOS...in your case, your lack of periods. Basically, I was in the exact same situation when I was 18. Unfortunately, at the time, I thought my doc knew best & went with his suggestions!! Had I researched it more at the time, perhaps I wouldn't have the many problems I have today. Try to do something about it now....you'll be better off later in life!! Research this board...there is much valuable information on it & ask questions...there are many, many bright, talented women here who have much knowledge about the subject!!
