Now and Forever

I know what it is like now to live with PCOS and I can guess a little bit what it will be like to live tomorrow with PCOS (when I am able to get on medication or supplements), but what scares me about all this is what it will be like to live Forever with PCOS. Will the medication work for a few years and then stop? Will the medication eventually allow me to feel and look normal for as long as I stay on it? Do symptoms change/disappear after menopause?

Is there anyone here who has been on meds or supplements or some diet or program that has allowed them to mostly be 'normal' for a long period of time? Is this question impossible to answer because metaformin and the like haven't been around more than a few years? Is there anything i'm doomed to get because of PCOS (like diabetes)?

I know I may be being paranoid, but I don't know what the long term results are projected to be like.
