skinny pcos / treatment?? please help!

i was diagnosed with pcos recently. i am a slim to medium build and was put on a birth control pill to control the symptoms of pcos. this hasn't worked, but has given me very bad mood swings with lots and lots of crying (and i've only been trying it for around a month).

i also have the symptoms of lightheadness, tingling in my body and very up and down energy levels. when i spoke to my doctor about whether it could be insulin related she discounted the idea staight away on the basis that i am not overweight and don't have the obvious hirutuism symptoms. she also seemed to think my pcos problem wasn't severe because i'm not overweight etc etc. unfortunately even though i look ok, i feel terrible! has anyone got any suggestions on what I should try next. i would really appreciate some advice.
