hi michelle-- i apologize that I don't have more time to write right now,but what works for me is mainly these 3 things:

1) take 1500 mcg of inositol (find it at health food store) every morning on empty stomach, don't eat or drink anything but water for an hour at least

2) take chromium gtf or piccolinate 200-600mcg every day

3) Low-carb diet -- there are many more than just atkins--try Protein Power (my fave), Carb Addicts (my second fave) or do a search on this site for diets. We all discuss lowcarb diets all the time. BTW, most are not as strict as atkins--whihc is good b/c basically (brace yourself) this is soemthing you need to stay on and live with, not go off it like youdid with atkins. BUt you will find in these other books that it's not as hard to stay on them, and make that way of eatign a part of your life.

gotta go GOOD LUCK MICHELLE I'll write more later if I don't see more responses to your post but also use the archives to search about tests etc.
