anonymous@obgyn.net:

I have heard many women with PCOS say that they were also depressed. I, myself, have always been a sad person & was put on antidepressants 3 years ago for clinical depression. I recently (3 months ago) cut it in half, then 3 weeks later went off of them (under doctor's care, of course) & still feel great! I think that my hormones being out of balance from PCOS had alot to do with the depression.

I've been on Metformin since 12/99 & the last set of bloodwork came back normal - everything...including insulin, testosterone, cholesterol, etc! Maybe my serotonin (which is what antidepressants control the level of by affecting the update mechanism of) was "off" also.

Good luck! k emory
