Re: 17 and wondering...

I had gone to a thyroid specialist to get my blood tested (my mom has
hypo-thyroidism and I have many of the symptoms so she wanted me
tested). It was the nurse there that told my mom that my testosterone
levels were too high, but she wouldn't tell us anything else (whether
that was bad, good, nothing to worry about, etc.) without us going back
in, which we didn't want to do because we didn't really like the
specialist. So our results got forwarded to my usual doctor who told me
that my high levels were nothing to worry about. I had also mentioned
to the specialist that my periods have never been regular and he just
told me that was normal and would regulate itself - acting like I was
making a big deal out of nothing. I just took what my doctor said at
face value until I read about PCOS and saw that one sign was raised
levels of testosterone.
