Hi Jackie, Unfortunately, you can be thin and still be IR. Excess weight is definately a problem for most but not all PCOSers. You might ask your doctor for an IGTT just to be sure. Since you cannot take BCP, you might check out vitamin supplements for hirsutism. I have read that 320mg of Saw Palmetto per day is supposed to help, it could take 3-6 months of taking this to notice a difference. With your medical history, I would be very careful about taking supplements though, definately check with your doctor. I'm sorry, I don't know alot about spironolactone. As, for the fertility issue, it is tough news to get for anyone, but don't get too down. There are many of us, myself included with beautiful healthy children, conceived naturally or with the help of medications. You may or may not have problems. Whether or not you actively treat your PCOS is up to you, but do some research before you decide, and that way you will have all the information and can make an informed choice. Good luck to you, At Wed, 31 May 2000, Jackie wrote: >
