Lisa, I hope this doesn't burst your bubble, but...the doctor should have done some blood tests to determine what your hormone levels are, BCP can only help with a few of the symptoms of PCOS, they do not "treat" it or "cure" it. Ortho Cyclen is the pill I take, and it seems better than the other ones I've tried, but each woman is different. You do need an IGTT, you may be IR, and if so you need to be treated for that. When I was diagnosed, I was put on BCP, I did my own research, called my Doctor back and told her: this is what I found, these are the tests I need. That is an oversimplification of the conversation of course, but it did get me the additional tests, and started a "partnership" between me and my doctor. I hope you have a good rapport with your doctor, then you could give him a call and explain that "PCOS has long-term health repercussions, and that you would really like to know where you stand now, so that you can make decisions that will positively effect your future health"-I hope you aren't offended by my pushiness, putting words in your mouth and all! I hope this helps in some way, take care of yourself! At Wed, 31 May 2000, Lisa wrote: >
