Sure. For the last few years, most cardiologists have been recommending 175 - 180 as the range for the upper level of total cholesterol. You still have to have a higher level of High Density (HDL) than Low density (LDL) but it seemed that many patients were coming in with cholesterols around 190 and still having difficulty. Some dr and labs will still use the 200 number but some drs still think that treating PCOS with a birth control pill is appropriate. I cannot say that the 200 number is worse than the 180 number but it is the official recommendation.
