Just got back from an appointment with my RE.....From: Avalos (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 May 2000 14:05:16 -0500
Hi everyone ! I just got back from an appointment with my RE.. He did an ultrasound of my ovaries... Turns out that my right ovary is riddled with cysts, and my left ovary also has quite a few (he did not even get into counting them. just pointed out all the black spots for me... I feel like my ovaries should belong to a Dalmatian...) Also, it seems that I have a monster cyst on the left ovary. lovely. and a blocked fallopian tube, although he assured me that this is not a big deal. (of course it's not a big deal, it's not HIS blocked fallopian tube... why should he worry? aaaarrrrrrghhhh!) The good news? He said that it looked as though I had recently ovulated (he claims that he saw signs that an egg had recently been released. How on earth can they tell this from looking at that screen? I just saw grey fuzz in alternating shades... oh yeah, and black dots that he assured me were cysts. I did not see a sign anywhere saying "The Egg has been released" or "Recently departed Egg".) Anyway, he predicted a period for me sometime over the next week or two (so now he's foretelling the future). I am holding my breath (not) and hoping (definitely hoping) that his fortune telling abilities are on the mark.... He offered to call my OB-Gyn and inform her of my status so that she can continue treatment on the same meds from now on.... (this is a good thing, I think.) The only other thing he did was order a blood test to check my progesterone levels. He pronounced me fit as a fiddle, told me there was no need to increase my dosage of Met... (I think there is a need, but I will keep that to myself for now and just wait and see what happens), and wished me well. I feel like I missed something....somewhere. It was too quick and easy. Oh well, I guess this is all good news. Just wanted to share my thoughts with you all today. Hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend! Clara -
