Re: what next? Ivy. Sorry this is so LONGFrom: Barbara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 May 2000 11:05:54 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Bitsy, You have been through so much! I wish I had some kind of answer for you, but I don't. I just wanted to offer a couple of thoughts, One is: removing your ovaries will not 'cure' PCOS. You will still need to be treated for the PCOS even if your ovaries are removed. It is a metobolic/endocrine disorder not an ovarian one. The second is, is there anything they can do for your ovaries? Do BCP just not work for you? What about surgery, some women have had success with ovarian drilling I don't know much about it and it seems extreme, but your case sounds extreme. Having your ovaries rupture would be very serious, and it sounds like your doctor is compassionate and knowledgeable. I would however, seek more than one opinion before having my ovaries removed. Good Luck to you, let us know what you find out. At Sat, 27 May 2000, Bitsy wrote: > > IVY.. >Sorry it has been so long since I have answered, but work has been >keeping me >busy.
