have PCOS. You DO have to have various symptoms associated with it (insulin probs, hair probs, skin probs etc). Also your bloodwork should show a higher than normal testost. level, and possibly weird ratios of LH to FSH, etc.

I have not had my ovaries looked at and I HAVE been diagnosed as PCOS--based on symptoms and bloodwork.

Seems to me that it's less work to just go to a new, better-informed Dr. than to try to 'educate' the one one already has. B/c .. if you have to educate them, what will they know that is more than what you already know? But that is just my opinoin..
