Insulin resistance and it's effects on vision

During my last eye exam I talked to my doctor about how much worse my vision had been getting. He questioned me about other medical conditions and I told him about my hypoglycemic attacks (this was before I had my GTT that confirmed my suspisions about IR and hypoglycemia). He told me that if I were having blood sugar problems this most definately would have an effect on my vision.

I had to get glasses at the age of 8 (I also started having weight problems shortly before then hmmmmm...) and every eye exam since then I had to get a stronger prescription. I talked to my Dr. about that also (I was worried I would eventually end up blind!) and he said that I am getting to the age where it should start "leveling off". I am wondering, though, if I have an insulin/glucose problem, will my vision continue to get worse? Does anyone have any information or experience with this topic they could share? I've tried searching the web but am not coming up with a lot.

I appreciate any advice offered. Geez, it seems like every part of us can be effected by this. All the more reason to dig in our heels and fight, huh? : )
