Beckie~~ I too have 4 kids and MAJOR SYMPTOMS, and feel fortunate to have my miracles. The problem with PCOS is that cutting out your ovaries won't fix it, because it's not their fault. They are reacting to a hormone problem that is usually caused by insulin resistance. You can be tested for glucose tolerance AND insulin resistance while breastfeeding, as well as some of the other hormone levels. I'm still nursing too, and although my daughter is older than yours, my doc just ordered the tests today. Some of the treatment options may have to wait until she is finished, but insulin resistance as related to PCOS can be diagnosed! It's an uphill battle, but worth the climb!
