You are not alone. After coming off the BCP which I had been on for many years my first period lasted about 6 weeks although not all of it was heavy. I went to my GP and he said my body was re-adjusting. The next period was the same thing so back I went to see him. He still thought there was nothing wrong but I knew differently and asked to see a specialist. It took a 5 minute discussion with the specialist to find out I had all the classic symptoms of PCOS. Lately I've been battling with anemia because of the heavy bleeds I've been having on Provera. I've just started taking Metformin and I'm praying that my cycle will become normal shortly. Ultimately I'm trying to get pregnant.

I'm sure you'll find lots of useful information on this web site that will help you learn more about your newly diagnosed PCOS. I've found it eye opening.
