A normal period?From: Ginger (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 12 May 2000 21:24:02 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Ladies- At the risk of grossing everyone out, I have a question. I am on BCP's and am having my second period since starting it. It has been a long time since I've had a period - July of '98 - pregnancy & breastfeeding and before then had only three periods since '95 - 1st pregnacy & breastfeeding. Anyway, all of my periods since the very first one have been rough - very heavy, a lot of clotting, excruciating cramps, etc. Since I knew the pill would make me have a period, I was bracing for the worst. My first period (last month) was hardly nothing. I attributed it to my body adjusting to the pill. Well, this month it is heavier, but still not bad. No clots and no cramps at all. I am wondering if this is normal. I had assumed since it had been so long I would have a lot of trouble the first few cycles. I guess I'm worried that the pill is somehow not clearing everything out. Don't get me wrong, if this is how it's going to be it's absoulutely fine with me. But, with our risks of endometrial cancer I want to make sure everything's "working" properly. Any insight and experience is very much appreciated!
