Re: Alcoholism is in my family, tooFrom: SusanR (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 11 May 2000 17:34:54 -0500 (CDT)
WOW...I find this thread very interesting...There is alcoholism on my moms side...both her parents...I don't know about my dad's side...but his is the diabetic side...lol... I was wondering if anyone also had a family history of Anxiety disorders, deppression, etc... I have been noticing some mention of this associated with pcos...and I was wondering if it is also found with diabetics...I know that my father had episodes of deppression throught his life...but after being dx with type II a few years a go...he had just started on anti deppressants...but went off them after a year...and he has been great ever since...I don't ever remembering him being as even keeled and 'happy' as he consistantly is now. Hmmm...makes me wonder...if all those years the blood sugar wasn't causing the depppression...and since he is now under very good control of his daibetes...his moods are stabalised? Ok....big stretch now...could some other psychiatric problems be related to insulin...? I would love to hear anyone's opinions...maybe you have read research about this? SusanR
