This is strange!From: Kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Apr 2000 23:29:28 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago. I have unusual periods, facial hair, weight problems, a sister with PCOS and the list goes on. I was treated for PCOS with Fertinex and Metrodine. I now have 2 children after, what seemed like endless treatments. I also had surgery to remove cysts about 5 years ago. Well, I don't have my periods regularly as usual but when I went to my OBGYN about 2 months ago, he took the blood tests needed to check my insulin levels. Apparently they came back normal and a sonogram was done and I have less than 10 cysts on each ovary! Now, the doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS is now telling me that I don't seem to have it. I'm beyond confused and I really don't know how that this has all happened. I do still have facial hair and erratic periods. Now, because my insulin levels are "normal"---I don't have PCOS????? Does anyone have anything that they can tell me? Any and all information would be helpful.
