Yes, I get those stabbing pains in my head and I don't know where they come from! I'm so glad you mentioned this- I thought I was just being a hypochondriac (sp). I have been on Metformin and recently started a low-carb diet. How about you? And sometimes I also get stabbing pains in my chest- is this what you experience, Elle? I really hate to attribute this to Met as I convinced my Dr. (just a G.P. but very open-minded) to prescribe Met for me. After 15 years of living with PCOS - a divorce( my husband was not understanding and sympathetic as I have seen that so many of your husbands are) and finally doing something about this, I don't want to give up at this point- but the pains are scary. Also, I'd like to comment on the Thread of being over 200 lbs. I am a reluctant member of that group, and I have spent years hating and berating myself because of this. It is so comforting to know that I am not alone (is this a case of Misery Loves Company?) Our society is so prejudiced against fat people, and yes I am fat according to the standards. I read an article in the newspaper last night (Seattle Times) where a woman dressed in a padded "fat suit" and spoke to a group of high school students ( this woman was not fat without her suit). Then she took off the suit and spoke to the same group of students. When she was thin the students responded much better to her - and some of their comments on her *fat* persona ranged from a feeling of discomfort in approaching her to the feeling that she was a lonely *looser*! What a sad situation! What a screwed up society! O.K. I'm climbing down from my soapbox. Anyway, thanks for being here!
