spelling: Pleuresy. why don't you do an internet search to learn more about it, especially if it worries you! I know next to nothing about it, but I remember hearing my dad say the word at some point in my growing-up years.... let us know what you find out about it, please! (yeah, I get chest pains too, and like a dunce, I just chalk it up to being waaaaay out of shape and overweight....) -----Original Message----- From: anonymous@obgyn.net [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net Sent: Friday, April 28, 2000 11:19 AM To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS Subject: Re: Question: Mysterious pains in the chest? Hi Elle- I also experience these pains. Actually a few months ago I had a trip to the ER because I called my doctor's office to ask about them and the nurse panicked (knowing my history and strong family history of heart disease) and insisted I go to the ER. Anyway, I had a chest x-ray, EKG, and a blood test to see what was up and everything was fine. The doctor who saw me concluded it was pluracy (mispelled?), but I'm not exactly sure. I still have these pains every few days, and they scare me but I don't know what to do since all the tests came back normal. It seems that doctors think you're faking it if nothing shows up on a test. I just hope that I don't drop dead from a heart attack some day because something was overlooked! Sorry I don't have any solutions, just wanted to let you know that I get them too.
