Re: AM I BACKWARDS OR IS MY DOCTOR READING FROM THE WRONG BOOK?From: Belle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 23 Apr 2000 21:05:59 -0500 (CDT)
Your cycles may re-adjust shortly. It is possible to have a period without ovulating. I do not know if this is what your body has been doing but if it has met should correct that. Your body will adjust on a new monthly schedule. You do not seem to have the carb cravings that most of us seem to have. That is good but you may be eating a lot of carbs. Apples are great (high fiber content to "cancel out" the carbs), but grapes, oranges, etc are not good choices for a low carb diet. read, pPotatoes and pasta are major "no-nos". I could not tell you how many carbs I eat in a day. I make an effort to choose as wisely as I can. Since I am no longer concerned about my weight (10 pounds from my goal weight), I have not been as concious as I probably should be about counting my carbs. DHEA-S should be 2.2 - 9.2 umol/l, testosterone 23 - 75 ng/dl (0.8 - 2.6 nmol/L), thyroid (TSH) should be 0-6 uU/ml, estrogen depends on the day of your cycle. I am assuming that your measurements are in pg/ml if not just let me know. Days 1-10 of your cycle should be 24 - 68 pg/ml, 11-20 50 - 186, 21-30 73 - 149, FSH/LH 2. I have left the insulin for last. I do not know if this is a fasting level, a one hour after a glucose tolerance test, 2 hour, etc. It really does not matter since it should be undetectable to under 30 uU/ml (0 - 145 pmol/L), either way, yours seems high. This is why I said what I did about the carbs earlier. I hope I have covered everything for you, if I have confused you [I do not read over my messages, they bore me :-)]let me know.
