I have a Dowager's hump, it is hereditary. My papa and aunt both have this as
well. I have always thought the difference was an adrenal hump (like in Cushing's)
is a fatty hump on the upper back/neck. A Dowager's hump is in the same place, but it
isn't painful and it is the spine that is curved like that. You look like an elderly
woman w/ osteoperosis. Anyway, my dr told me that my hump has nothing to do w/ the
adrenals, but they did think I might have scoliosis which I don't. Anyway, I hope
this helps, since I am not sure what you have.
