Re: Are you over 200 lbs?From: A (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Apr 2000 16:06:53 -0400
Cysters...if you need a laugh, a cry...whatever.... Am I over 200 lbs?? You know it! Occasionally, we all need a laugh...so, here it goes... About three months ago, I ran into an old friend from high school. Even though 8 years had past, she mentioned how I looked "really good" and "just about the same that I did back then." Well, since that time, I've gained 100+ lbs. Now, maybe "Barbie" couldn't tell this....so, I did mention..."Oh, really, gosh, I've gained over 100 pounds!" Her response, "WOW! That's like a whole extra person!!!" OK, maybe "Barbie" didn't notice....DOUBT IT! She's so wrapped up in her perfect little life with "Ken" that why would she want to notice! Anyway....go ahead, laugh!! I did...we all need to once & awhile. On a more positive note, I started low-carbing about three weeks ago. A little weight has come off (VERY SLOWLY) and my energy level has risen quite a bit! I also have an appt with a new RE in June....very excited! One more thought.....you're all right! People DO treat me differently! Not only that, but I treat myself differently as well. I stay home, alone, alot! I don't have anymore friends, haven't worn shorts or a bathing suit in 9 years, wear long sleeve shirts & long pants even in 100 degree weather, hate the thought of being seen in public. Well, I'm determined to change all that! And, I must say, my parents & all of your are my support system! Thanks Cysters.. you are all beautiful women! Alexis :-)
