AM I BACKWARDS OR IS MY DOCTOR READING FROM THE WRONG BOOK?From: Monique (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Apr 2000 13:37:33 -0500 (CDT)
OK gals, I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and the more I read, the more confused I become. All of you seem to have quite a number of symptoms that I don't, as well as successes with Met that I don't. I have some body hair (mustache, beard, etc.) but it is very light and "normal looking". I am not balding, in fact I have more hair on my head than I can stand. Low-carbing does not help me lose weight (i tried). I don't know what my hormone levels are, other than I (had...don't know if I still have) high testosterone and am insulin resistant. Although this hit in my twenties when I needed Clomid to get pregnant (2 boys now), I have always been overweight and could never seem to lose regardless of diet and exercise. Thyroid has been checked, they say it is fine and to top it all off, everyone complains of missed periods. My problems are periods that are too frequent and too heavy. I am on spironolactone and Met, which seems to be giving me opposite results compared to all of you. Am I simply an "odd PCOSer"? Or has my doctor diagnosed me wrong? Monique
